Waitangi Day celebrates the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840. It was a treaty between Maori chiefs and the British crown. While there have been disagreements over the exact meaning of the Treaty at times, the date of 6 February is a day for all New Zealanders to celebrate their amazing country and the come together as one people.
This event is an opportunity for all our chamber sponsors, chamber members and friends to come together in unison to celebrate the NZ community. And #WD18 is going to be bigger and better!
An afternoon of fun, good food and relaxation guaranteed. Mark it in your diaries!
This year’s Waitangi Day celebrations will once again be held at the Australian International School
in Lorong Chuan. There have been a number of developments to the campus over the last year, including the opening of the new Early Learning Village
Elsewhere on the campus, some major developments have been unveiled, including a new parent café and Elementary playground. With features such as a herb garden, pond and Tetris wall, along with plenty of shady, grassed areas, the new playground provides ample opportunities for exploration and imaginative play. All of these new facilities have been designed to provide the best possible standards of education to students at AIS, whilst supporting the school’s holistic and inclusive approach to learning. Come and have a look!
Enjoy a glass of wine or bubbles while the little one’s (1-5 years old) are entertained by the AIS’s Early Years Specialists with workshops and kid-friendly activities and equipment.
